WTR 1000 2018 rankings now available to WTR subscribers

The 2018 rankings tables for the World Trademark Review 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals are now available to WTR subscribers. This exclusive early access provides a unique first look at the leading trademark legal services providers from more than 70 jurisdictions.

The WTR 1000 research project focuses exclusively on identifying the leading private practice firms and individuals in countries from across the globe. The final rankings are based on extensive feedback from all parts of the trademark eco-system, including private practitioners themselves and corporate trademark counsel. To allow for easy navigation, the results are presented in bands – gold, silver and bronze – to reflect the depth of expertise, market presence and level of work on which firms are typically instructed. The publication therefore serves as a one-stop source of reference for anyone seeking trademark legal services.

Nicholas Richardson, research editor for the WTR 1000, explains: “A strong brand is vital to success in today’s intensely competitive and increasingly globalised market. Trademarks are key tools through which businesses can protect the goodwill and reputation inherent in their brands, and build and maintain demand for their products and services. As a result, external advisers play a crucial role in developing and implementing brand strategies for both local and international markets and in protecting these vital assets in the face of infringement. It is thus imperative to choose the best legal counsel and the WTR 1000 serves as an essential guide in today’s brand-focused economy – as well as highlighting the health of the trademark marketplace.”

The full guide will be published in January 2018 but World Trademark Review subscribers can access the latest tables here now.

The early release of the rankings is one of a number of changes we have implemented to the World Trademark Review platform. Going forward we will be providing subscribers with even more detailed analysis and insight of developments across the world affecting trademark owners and their advisers. In addition to increased intelligence moving to the subscriber area, our recently expanded editorial team will be delivering unique new data and research reports that explore the key trademark trends, concerns and players in specific industries and jurisdictions.

To view this brand new material, current subscribers don’t need to do anything. However, from today non-subscribers no longer have access to some content and will not have automatic access to the new material on offer. Registered users will continue to receive the WTR Weekly, be able to read free-to-view news and access two pieces of subscriber-only content every month (including articles previously restricted to full subscribers). Details on how to become a full subscriber – and benefit from unrestricted access to the latest market intelligence, legal analysis and cutting-edge insight – are available here.

This is just the first set of enhancements scheduled for the World Trademark Review platform - we have further plans for the future, which will be unveiled in due course. As always, once we do implement the changes, we would welcome any feedback.
