WIPO report suggests IP owners consider “embracing” infringement in 3D printing environment
WIPO’s latest “World IP Report” focuses on three “frontier technologies” that it feels hold the potential to boost future economic growth - 3D printing, nanotechnology and robotics. The report includes the suggestion that “embracing infringer users’ behaviour”, specifically in the 3D printing space, is a strategy that IP owners may wish to consider so as not to curtail innovative behaviour.
