Ukrainian domain names up for grabs

Thousands of desirable '.com.ua' domain names have today became available for registration by new owners. According to the '.com.ua' domain name policy, all existing third-level domain names had to be re-registered before midnight last night. The failure of an owner to re-register means the name will be cancelled, and may be registered by a third party.

Over 16,000 '.com.ua' domain names had not been re-registered by yesterday's deadline. Although it will take up to a month to cancel all of these registrations, interested parties may check the status of domain names and reserve them online at www.iname.com.ua (or any other registrar listed at the site). New registrations of old domain names will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, subject only to payment of the registration fee (UAH65).
