The fundamental legislation governingtrademarks is the Trademark Act, which cameinto force on December 24 2009, amendedJanuary 30 2013. Detailed procedures forfiling trademark applications are set out inDecree 43/10, which was issued on July 32010. Trademark infringement as a form ofunfair competition is regulated by the TradeAct, which came into force on January 1 2011,amended January 30 2013. The Customs Act2010, amended November 30 2012, and the Acton Special Powers for the Efficient Protectionof Intellectual Property 2006 regulate thetreatment of pirated and counterfeit goods.
