In Le Byblos v Swinger, the Court of Appeal of Paris has ruled against an Italian company running a hotel in Italy for infringement of a French and EU trademark owned by a French hotel company. This was a long-awaited decision, the proceedings having started in the Court of First Instance in 2008 following previous legal battles initiated in 2005.
