How brands can work with Mercado Libre to protect their IP online (on demand)

Mercado Libre is the largest marketplace in Latin America. In 2019, 379 million items were sold, which represented a 13.2% increase on the prior year. The gross merchandise value was $14 billion, an 11.9% increase on the previous year.

The marketplace giant is also increasingly becoming a key part of many brands and retailers’ ecommerce strategy. In Latin America, 47% of online shoppers buy on Mercado Libre and this number is set to continue growing beyond Latin America in the future.

However, the global growth of online counterfeiting means that collaboration with marketplaces and brand protection professionals is paramount to prevent brand erosion and revenue loss on the platform.

In this webinar you’ll learn:

  • The latest developments in Mercado Libre’s brand protection efforts, including how brands can join its brand protection programme
  • Why taking a proactive approach and leveraging actionable data is key to dealing with IP infringements at the root and preventing future infringements
  • How technology can help streamline the reporting and takedown process of counterfeit listings
