Although the Trademark Law does not incorporate unregistered signs, these are recognised as relative grounds for refusal and are protected in accordance with the Unfair Competition Law. In particular, Article 13 of that law offers protection in relation to signs that are deemed to have become a distinguishing feature of the goods or services that they cover.
