European trademark reforms pass latest hurdle despite objection over fee diversion
The European Union Council has adopted its position at first reading on the reform of the European trademark system. However, the Netherlands abstained from voting, while the United Kingdom came out in opposition of adoption of the draft regulation, stating that it cannot support the diversion of fees accumulated from trademark-related activities to the general EU budget.
