Donuts unveils enhanced trademark protection offering; expert urges lower cost options in next gTLD round
Domain name registry operator Donuts is to debut an enhanced version of its DPML scheme on October 1, allowing trademark owners to protect their marks and related terms across all of Donuts' new generic top-level domains. Brand owners have three months to sign up for the service, which comes with a $10,000 price tag. However, one expert has called for ICANN to mandate a blocking process at a lower price for the second round of new gTLDs.
