'.cz' TLD records millionth registered domain name

CZ.NIC, the organisation responsible for servicing and maintaining '.cz', the Czech top-level domain, announced on November 19 2012 that it had registered the one millionth '.cz' domain name, thus becoming the 12th 'millionaire' among the EU member states.

The '.cz' top-level domain is among those with the fastest growth, with over 10,000 new domains being registered every month.

Statistics published by CZ.NIC in April last year showed that the majority - 58% - of registered domain names are owned by individuals. The highest percentage of websites in the '.cz' extension are company websites (41%), followed by parked domains (19%), e-shops and non-functional websites (8%), while personal websites account for 7% of all registered domains.
