Chinese court grants protection to unregistered GI ‘Romanée-Conti’

The Beijing High Court has granted protection to the GI ‘Romanée-Conti’, holding that although Romanée-Conti had not been applied for registration as a GI trademark in China, registration was not a prerequisite to invoke protection of GIs under the Trademark Law.
