Bad faith trademark application’s 12-year battle
China has recently been increasing efforts to prevent pre-emptive trademark filings. In the latest development in an ongoing battle for the AKRIS mark, the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board refused its registration in two successive decisions, on the relative ground of Akris AG’s prior registration of PUNTO AKRIS and the absolute ground of bad faith when the prior registration had ceased to exist.
