Apple pays $60 million for IPAD mark in China, Proview expected more
The dispute over the IPAD trademark has settled, with Apple agreeing to pay Proview Technologies $60 million to use the name in China. This settlement has put an end to months of wrangling that could have prevented Apple’s tablet computer from being sold in China under the iPad name. While the dispute is now over, the counsel representing Proview told WTR that the settlement fell short of the figure Proview had in mind.
