Patents, designs and plant breeders’ rights

The firm litigates a wide variety of patent cases in the fields of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, optics, electronics, telecommunications, microchips, semiconductors and printed circuits and weapons. In the 1990s Arnan Gabrieli led the first litigation concerning plant breeders’ rights in Israel, and today the firm represents a wide variety of clients in this area. The team also files and prosecutes patents, designs and trademarks for clients in Israel and worldwide.

Copyright

Another key area of expertise is the enforcement of copyright belonging to writers, composers and authors. For over 10 years the firm has served as external legal counsel to Acum, a non-profit organisation that administers and manages the copyrights of its members (comprising artists and authors). The firm represents authors in their legal battle to collect proper royalties from television and radio broadcasting corporations that use their work.

Trademarks and passing off

The firm has extensive experience in litigation relating to trademarks and passing off and has been involved in some of the most significant trademark and passing-off cases brought before the Supreme Court.
