GILBEY LEGAL was founded in December 1992.
It comprises avocats of the Paris Bar who are specialists in intellectual property. Since its creation, GILBEY LEGAL has offered the full range of services in all IP fields other than patents.
We assist clients in defining and implementing trademark, design, trade dress and slogan creation, and with clearance and filing strategies. We also conduct and analyse availability searches and seek to assist in assessing and mitigating the risks.
We handle trademark filing and prosecution worldwide, with a reliable and well-tested network of associates. We also manage portfolios and renewals, as well as all intervening recordals.
We offer trademark watch services and represent clients in oppositions before the French and Community registries, as well as through local associates before other registries.
We advise and assist clients in the enforcement and defence of their rights, with direct representation before the French and European courts, and through our network of associates elsewhere. We also assist clients in setting up customs surveillance and anti-counterfeiting enforcement.
We provide assistance at all stages in the fields of designs, authors’ rights and copyright, domain names and unfair competition, as well as assistance and advice relating to regulatory issues such as trademark and trade dress advertising restrictions and pharmaceutical agency naming issues.
