Partner - C&L Attorneys
Jorge León is an attorney at law who began his IP practice in 1997 with Mexican law firm Olivares & Cia. Since 2003, he has been a founding partner at C&L Attorneys and is head of the IP litigation and copyright department.
Mr León is enthusiastic about intellectual property. He serves on the International Trademark Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Subcommittee and the American Bar Association's Trademark Litigation Committee. He is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society International and the Mexican Bar.
Mr León has excellent communication skills – he is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a limited working proficiency in Japanese. Due to this, and his knowledge of Mexico's IP framework and background (which includes specialising in intellectual property at the Franklin Pierce Law Centre) he has been appointed as an expert witness before the US Federal Court of Appeals in a cross-border trademark dispute. His background also includes specialising in IP law at the Graduate School of Law Studies, a diploma in intellectual property from the World Intellectual Property Organisation and several other courses and lectures related to intellectual property and enforcement of IP rights.
Mr León has been recognised as a top tier attorney in Mexico by the WTR 1000 and Corporate INTL for several years in a row, and has particular expertise in the pharmaceutical, automotive and food and beverages industries.
