Bradley J Freedman is a partner at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia and is the Vancouver office technology law practice leader. His practice focuses on technology, intellectual property, the Internet, e-commerce and related matters. He advises clients on negotiating, structuring and documenting transactions and business arrangements, and acts as counsel in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Mr Freedman has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the British Columbia Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Trademarks Opposition Board and international commercial arbitration tribunals.

Mr Freedman is a domain name dispute arbitrator for the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre.

Mr Freedman is a member and former director of the Information Technology Law Association of Canada and a member of the International Technology Law Association.

Mr Freedman is a frequent author and speaker. His recent publications include:

• “Internet Law” (chapter) in Annual Review of Law & Practice, 2011;
• “Domain Name Disputes” (chapter) in Consolidated IP Statutes and Regulations with Related Materials, Thomson Carswell, 2012; and
• Trademark Litigation, 2011.

Mr Freedman has been selected by peers for inclusion in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada (IT/IP law). In addition, he has been given a Martindale-Hubbell BV Peer Review Rating and was recognised in the 2011 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory (technology transactions).

Mr Freedman obtained an LLB from the University of British Columbia and an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley.
