Gabriela Bodden has over 18 years’ experience in the IP field. She is a recognised expert in international IP law.

Her practice focuses primarily on trademark, copyright and patent matters, advertising and legal disputes, complex contractual and legal opinion matters and the selection, registration and enforcement of IP rights, adding a significant competitive advantage to clients’ portfolios.

Ms Bodden has extensive experience in handling complex international IP portfolios throughout the Latin American and Caribbean region, covering a wide variety of areas. Her expertise enables her to advise on top-level foreign law, helping clients to devise a suitable filing strategy.

In addition, Ms Bodden has written and collaborated on chapters on trademark practice and procedure for various publications that are highly prized within the IP field.

In 2011 Ms Bodden was made partner; while the majority of her work is still purely client facing, she also now spends time assisting in the management of the group and training the team that supports her. She is also involved in business development and often visits new clients to assist them in formulating their company strategy regarding the protection of trademarks, as well as advising on the maintenance of records, branding and communication of brand values to their colleagues.

  • Bachelor of laws with an emphasis in business management
  • Licentiate degree in law
  • LLM in IP law
  • Attorney at law/notary public
