At Kangxin Partners PC, Samson G Yu currently practises all aspects of IP law, specialising in patent and trademark prosecution, due diligence, IP strategy design and client counselling. He has successfully litigated numerous IP disputes involving patent and trademark infringement and unfair competition. Moreover, as the managing partner, Mr Yu applies his comprehensive management skills to help Kangxin become a leader in China.
Mr Yu has worked as an IP strategic designer and adviser for many of China’s top entities, assisting in their overseas acquisitions. He is also experienced in assisting Chinese entities in their responses to International Trade Commission 337 patent litigation in the United States. The majority of Mr Yu’s clients are Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to being acknowledged as one of the top experts in the IP industry, Mr Yu serves as an internationally renowned guest lecturer, adviser and published author in IP law. He is routinely invited to speak at international conferences and universities.
Mr Yu has been named an Asia Leading Lawyer by Asia Law & Practice five times since 2006. In 2008 and 2009 Mr Yu received nominations as a Band 1 Leading Individual in the Chinese IP field by Chambers and Partners. Due to his great dedication and contributions in raising IP rights awareness in China, Mr Yu was awarded the Certificate of Honour in 2008 and 2010 by the All China Patent Agent Association and the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), respectively. He has also been nominated as one of the National Intellectual Property Experts in 2012 by SIPO.
