Tom Albertini has 20 years’ experience in the trademark profession and a significant track record in advising a broad range of clients on all aspects of trademark and design clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement and dispute resolution – including in relation to some of the world’s most well-known brands. Mr Albertini’s clients include household names in the publishing, luxury goods, food, clothing, e-commerce and online, charity and technology sectors.
Mr Albertini strives to give clients practical, cost-effective and above all commercial advice that enables them to make effective and efficient use of their trademark and design rights, in order to further their business interests.
Mr Albertini has taught student members of the Chartered Institute of Trademark Attorneys who are taking their final examinations for a number of years and is a former examiner for the Joint Examination Board. Mr Albertini has also been guest speaker at several external conferences in the United Kingdom and abroad, including the main annual meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) in 2015. He is a member of the INTA Non-traditional Trademarks Committee and regularly contributes and verifies articles for the INTA Bulletin. Mr Albertini is also active in the London tech start-up scene and regularly gives talks to – and otherwise assists – start-ups in this field with the protection and exploitation of their intellectual property.
Mr Albertini joined J A Kemp in 2010, after working in the Simmons & Simmons IP group and at other private practice firms.
