Francisca Ferreira Pinto

Francisca Ferreira Pinto is a senior associate at Garrigues's Portuguese IP practice and is also an official IP agent. She studied law at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has also completed postgraduate qualifications in IP law at that university and in corporate law at the Instituto do Direito das Empresas e do Trabalho of Coimbra Law University.

Ms Pinto specialises in both contentious and noncontentious IP law matters. Her work involving some of the most well-known trademarks worldwide in the sectors of computer-related services and commercialisation of foodstuffs has enabled her to gain insight into how to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of trademark enforcement in Portugal.

She has wide-ranging experience in IP litigation, the enforcement of IP rights and the management of multinational client portfolios and licensing agreements. She also specialises in issues related to copyright and its protection in Portugal, and has worked a significant range of national and international economic groups.

Ms Pinto is a lecturer on IP matters at the Economics Faculty of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (advanced programme in entrepreneurship and innovation management), and participates in seminars within the scope of a private MBA programme which is sponsored by one of the most prominent national financial institutions.
