Axel Anderl

Axel Anderl heads Dorda Brugger Jordis' IT/IP and media department. His principal fields of activity are IT law and e-commerce, outsourcing, copyright and media law and trademarks. The department is appraised both by the leading international directories such as Legal 500, Chambers, PLC and Who’s Who and in national rankings.

He is well known for his work in e-commerce and software law. His practice covers drafting and negotiation of international IT-related contracts, outsourcing, licensing, franchising and distribution contracts, as well as data protection and IT/IP and media litigation. He frequently advises several national and international companies in the IT and IP field. He acts, in particular, as counsel to eBay, PayPal, Preisvergleich Internet Services AG (Geizhals; Skinflint, Cenowarka), The Times, HolidayCheck, Parship, Buena Vista (Austria), Amazon, Vienna Insurance Group, ING-Direct Bank and various other ecommerce and software companies.

Mr Anderl graduated from the University of Vienna (Mag iur 2000, Dr iur 2004) and completed his LLM in IT law with distinction in 2001. He specialised in IT law and became an associate at a renowned international business law firm based in Vienna from 2001 until 2005. Upon his admission to the Austrian Bar in September 2005, he joined Dorda Brugger Jordis as a partner.

Mr Anderl is the author of numerous expert publications on IT and IP law. He gives lectures on a regular basis, such as the "Business-Related Information Law" lecture he gave at the Management Centre Innsbruck, University of Applied Sciences. He is a member of the Austrian Bar Association, ITechLaw and the community of interest (www.it-law.at).
