The European Court of Justice handed down its much-anticipated Coty judgment this week, ruling that brand owners may restrict the online sales of their products through third-party platforms without breaching EU competition law. The ruling has been hailed as a major win for luxury brand owners, but the question still remains as to whether it will help other sectors.
