The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Trademark Public Advisory Committee (TPAC) recently hosted a public roundtable entitled “Fraudulent Solicitations to Trademark Owners”. It was chaired by Mary Denison, commissioner for trademarks and the opening remarks were provided by Joseph Matal, who is performing the functions and duties of the undersecretary of commerce for intellectual property and director of the USPTO. Members of the public were invited to attend and participate at the event. Speakers included both outside counsel and corporate practitioners and representatives of other organisations.
