Healthcare & Life Sciences Team of the Year: Novartis Pharma

Life on the pharmaceutical frontlines moves fast, with a multitude of challenges complicated by rules and regulations which are unique to this sector. When asked what has been keeping the team busy over the past 12 months, Novartis Pharma’s global head of trademarks and domain names, Myrtha Hurtado Rivas, presents a lengthy list: “Novartis has been involved in major deals since 2015 and a lot of resources continue to be dedicated to these. In particular, recordals and assignments, as well as monitoring, have all required our attention. This has entailed close collaboration with our regulatory colleagues, as trademark registration details often need to be submitted with changes to the marketing authorisation.”
