Finnish court requests preliminary ruling regarding colour mark
Finnish company Oy Hartwall Ab applied for the registration of a colour trademark in the Class 32 of the NICE classification. According to the application, the mark consisted of a blue ribbon with a thin grey border. The colours were specified in accordance with an internationally accepted colour classification system. On September 28 2017 the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court requested a preliminary ruling from the European Court of Justice (ECJ) regarding the mark.
